This rare Jeep with duel rear wheels was originally built for the U.S. Forestry Service and was made available to volunteer fire companies through a special government purchase program.
Purchased new in 1965, this vehicle replaced our previous brush Jeep which was a 1948 Willys.
That unit is still in service in a neighboring dept.
22-4 has its original 4 cyl. engine, and a custom made steel tank that holds approximately 80 gallons.
It was retired in 2009 with 8000 original miles and is now used for parades and public appearances.

Brush 22 is a Cummins Diesel powered Dodge truck tat was placed in service in 2010 to replace 22-4.
It has a new skid unit with a 150 gallon water tank and 10 gallon Class A foam tank. Two 200' pre-connected forestry lines and a 150' booster reel. 6 water vests and numerous hand tools.
Brush 22 is the first unit to respond to all brush fires in Chippewa as well as mutual aid brush fire calls.

Squad 22-8 is our Quick Response Service ( QRS ) medical unit. It responds to medical emergencies within the township. Equipment on this truck includes: Oxygen, House Bag, Back board, A.E.D. and other emergency medical supplies, all housed and mounted in a custom designed cabinet by Odessey. This vehicle also features a state of the art LED lighting package.

Squad 22 - 5 serves the department in various ways. It pulls our Technical Rescue trailer. It is used to transport extra manpower to an incident. It responds on traffic control calls, and it is used to transport equipment back to the station from fire scenes. Squad 22 - 5 is equipped with a full length roll out tray in the bed of the truck.

Chippewa Twp. is part of the Beaver County Technical Rescue Team along with the Alliquippa Bureau of Fire ( Sta. 91 ) and the Baden Boro Fire Department ( Sta. 47 ). This trailer holds the majority of our tools and equipment needed for Technical Rescue calls such as but, not limited to, rope and high angle rescue, building or trench collapse, and confined space rescue.

Engine 22 responds to almost all calls in the Township0 and to Mutual Aid calls as requested.
It has a 2250 gallon per minute pump, a 1000 gallon water tank, a 60 gallon foam cell and can carry seven fire fighters in air packs ( including the Officer ) and an operator. It also features a booster reel, a bumper mounted trash line and a rear intake.
Engine 22 is powered by a 470 horsepower Detroit Diesel.

Ladder 22 responds to all structural calls within the Township and to Mutual Aid calls as requested.
Ladder 22 features a 6 man cab with 5 SCBA seats, a 100' Ladder, a 2000 GPM pump, and a 500 gallon water tank. It carries a full compliment of ground ladders and hand tools as well as a Holmatro Combi-tool.
Ladder 22 is powered by a 500 horsepower Detroit Diesel.

Rescue 22 responds to all motor vehicle accidents in the Township and to Mutual Aid assignments as requested. It also responds as a third due apparatus for structural calls within the Township and when Rapid Intervention Team response is requested by Mutual Aid, and is a responding unit for Technical Rescue calls.
It is equipped with two complete sets of pre-connected Holmatro rescue tools including spreaders, cutters, rams, and combi-tools. It also has two portable rescue pumps, a cascade system, two 100\' electric reels, two 100\' low pressure air lines, shoring, medical equipment, rope and confined space equipment, a full compliment of both high and low pressure air...

This vehicle started out in our department simply as a means for extra manpower to get to the scene, however, shortly after purchasing this vehicle we entered into the Quick Response Service program and quickly converted this vehicle for medical response. Having been replaced in January of 2012 with a Dodge Durango, this piece of apparatus will now be used by the Chief (22-10) as a response and command vehicle.
