Happy July 4th! |
July 4, 2022 | |
The men and women of the Chippewa Fire Department would like to wish all of you a very happy and safe Independence Day. We wouldn’t mind being invited to your back yard barbecue but, we’d rather not have to attend in emergency mode so here are a few safety reminders that will help us all enjoy the day… Fireworks and fire pit embers can easily start a brush fire. The ground cover in our area is very dry right now due to lack of sufficient rain fall. Todays high may reach the low 90’s! Be mindful of children and pets this evening. Use moderation when consuming alcohol. Heat, fireworks and alcohol usually do not make a good combination! Make sure as you prepare your burgers and hotdogs that your grill is in a safe place, away from any siding or overhangs. Watch for flare ups or any charcoal that may fall onto the grass or your deck. Should an incident arise where you need emergency help, call 911 immediately. The sooner we know you need help, the sooner we can get to you! |
