| Today was National Fallen Firefighters Day. A day the annually kicks off Fire Prevention Week.
Today we hosted a Touch A Truck event at Walmart in Chippewa. We had an excellent turn out and many children and adults enjoyed climbing in and on the equipment. We gave away fire prevention handouts, fireman’s hats, stickers and other goodies.
Unfortunately many departments were unable to provide units due to an ongoing search detail for an elderly female in nearby South Beaver Township.
While events like these are important for us and the public alike, our responsibility is first and foremost that of life safety.
We are glad to say that the search efforts were successful!
While we did not have the number of departments that we had planned on, we are externally proud of our brothers and sisters for their relentless efforts and dedication.
Thank you to all those who attended todays event, to all the companies that were able to show up and to those who answered the call to duty and were unable to attend. |
