A Time to Give Back

On July 10th of this year, a Chippewa Township family suffered a tragic loss when 18 month old Graham Allgyer lost his life in an accidental drowning.

While nothing can bring Graham back, our members decided that we needed to do something to perpetuate his memory in the hearts of all that knew him.

Today the Chippewa Fire Department placed a bench on the campus of the Chippewa Alliance church on 37th street extension and dedicated it to Graham’s memory.

A small dedication ceremony was held after services today to the surprise of the Allgyer family.

It is our hope that this bench, placed near the playground, a place filled with smiles and children’s laughter, will give family, friends and strangers alike, a place to reflect and remember just how precious the gift of life really is.

There were many personnel from multiple agencies that answered the Allgyer’s call for help that day.

The Chippewa Fire Department and the family are incredibly grateful and encourage those responders to stop by and visit Graham’s bench.

Many folks, who aren’t mentioned here, worked behind the scenes to make this memorial possible. It could never have happened without their help and we truly appreciate them.
