| On Tuesday morning Chippewa was alerted for a garbage truck on fire at Waste Management on Wallace Run Rd.
Engine 22 responded with two firefighters within minutes.
Not knowing the size of the truck, the contents or the fuel type involved, Engineer/Firefighter, Don Hagy, immediately requested a tanker and manpower from station 14 (Big Beaver) and an Engine Company from station 11 (Beaver Falls) for manpower.
Companies made quick work in a collaborative effort to extinguish the fire in the compactor.
All units returned to service within an hour. |
