Yesterday a single vehicle crash in Chippewa resulted in traffic headaches at the intersection of Rt. 51 and I-376.

A car came down the west bound off ramp of 376, crossed through the intersection and ended up on the guide rail after striking a utility pole and taking out the control box for the traffic lights.

A medical condition may have contributed to the cause. Rescue companies from Chippewa and Patterson assisted at the scene.

PennDOT ended up closing some lanes and installed temporary stop signs and lighting until repairs to the traffic lights could be made. The lights were back in service early this afternoon.
