Feline Rescue

This morning, we were alerted to a residence on Braden School Rd. for a cat that had been stuck in a tree.

Ladder 22 responded with a full crew.
Upon arrival, our crew indeed found a cat approximately 30 to 35 feet up in a tree. The cat was awake and alert. The residence stated they had heard the cat crying for the last four days and finally had discovered it in the tree.

We deployed our aerial and as Lt. C.J. Burawa approached, the scared feline frantically started descending the tree. Approximately 20 feet from the ground the cat lost its grip. Firefighter Brant Kish was at the base of the tree and helped break the fall.

The cat immediately scampered off to a neighboring house, apparently suffering no ill effects.
