At approximately 5:41 PM this evening, the Chippewa Township Fire Department was dispatched along with the 1st Alarm Assignment for a reported residence filling with smoke on Turnpike Avenue

Upon arrival, Chippewa Township Police Department advised of heavy smoke coming from the basement. Chief 22 (22-10) established Command, and crews quickly located the fire in the basement. Thanks to the rapid actions of responding personnel, the fire was confined to the basement with no extension to the remainder of the home.
