Today, we recognize the men and women who choose to serve their communities as volunteer firefighters

Volunteering as a firefighter means answering the call when others are running away. It means leaving family dinners, getting out of bed in the middle of the night, missing holidays and special occasions, spending countless hours training, and putting yourself in harm’s way to help someone you may have never met.
